Ten individuals recently graduated from Nicolet College’s Law Enforcement Recruit Academy with each now eligible to be certified by the Wisconsin Department of Justice as law enforcement officers in the state. The challenging 720-hour program included a mix of classroom and hands-on scenario training to give students the skills necessary to respond safely and effectively to a multitude of different situations. Many of the recent graduates are already employed by area departments. The other are expected to be soon. The graduates and their instructors are, first row, left to right, Brad Fogerty, Nicolet Instructor; Matthew Rudolph, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office; Joseph Adam, Vilas County Sheriff’s Office; Emily Hunter, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office; Lara Redmond, Rhinelander; Abbey Johnson, Ashland Police Department; Tim Gerdmann, Nicolet Academy Director. Second row, Bryce Beauchaine, Reedsburg Police Department; Zachary Irish, Gleason; Kobe Gallion, Ashland Police Department; Caleb Rauhut, Forest County Sheriff’s Office; and Andrew Snow, Lac Du Flambeau Department of Natural Resources. All 10 received Technical Diplomas in the 720-hour Recruit Academy. The college will start another Recruit Academy in January.
