Nine individuals recently graduated from Nicolet College’s Law Enforcement Recruit Academy with each now eligible to be certified by the Wisconsin Department of Justice as law enforcement officers in the state.
The challenging 720-hour program included a mix of classroom and hands-on scenario training to give students the skills necessary to respond safely and effectively to a multitude of different situations.
Many of the recent graduates are already employed by area departments. The other are expected to be soon.
Academy graduates pictured here are, front row, Pierce Maday, Bad River Natural Resources; Tyler Williams, Ashland Police Department; Catherine Moeller; Ashlee Allen, Lac du Flambeau Police Department; back row, Kyle Karshbaum, Ashland Police Department; Jarrett Radmer, Minocqua Police Department; Liam Stevens; Reed Symonds, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office; and Walker Hartman, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
The college currently has an academy in progress and will be hosting two in 2024. The projected start dates are late January and mid-May. Anyone interested in attending can contact Recruit Academy Director Tim Gerdmann at (715) 365-4535 or by email at tgerdmann@nicoletcollege.edu.
